Collins DuPont Design Group wins three Silver Awards

Collins DuPont Design Group today announced it received three Silver Awards for new home sales and marketing during The Nationals 2020, presented by the National Association of Home Builders’ National Sales and Marketing Council.

The Nationals salutes and honors the best home builders, developers, associates and consultants in the building industry for their determination, integrity, creativity and endurance. With 61 categories across various disciplines of the new home industry, the awards honor excellence in product and community design, advertising, marketing and sales achievements by individuals and sales teams.

“We are very pleased to win three silver awards in such a prestigious, highly competitive awards program for our industry as The Nationals,” said President and Principal Owner Sherri DuPont, ASID.

During a three-day judging process, a panel of seven industry professionals from across the country determined the Silver and Gold award winners from a field of more than 900 entries. Silver Award Winners are the top vote recipients in each category and are the finalists for the Gold Award, which will be announced in February 2021 as part of the International Builders’ Show.

“Collins DuPont Design Group’s continued success is a direct reflection of our tenured teams and loyal industry partners,” said Vice President and Principal Owner Kim Collins, ASID. “We’re honored by these awards, as each one is further affirmation of our commitment to iconic interior design.”

Collins DuPont Design Group won silver awards for Best Interiors of a Custom Home for Sherri DuPont and Amy Coslet’s work in a private residence in Mediterra, Lana Knapp’s work in a model home in Pine Ridge Estates, and for Kim Collins and Alina Dolan’s private residence in Bonita Bay’s Seaglass.

In Mediterra, DuPont and Coslet’s interior design scheme complements the home’s composition and focuses on the homeowners’ growing family, with rooms designed to be comfortable, yet accommodating for large gatherings. Though the millwork is traditional, the finishes are contemporary and glitzy. Furnishings and fabrics coordinate flawlessly with the warm floors and intricate ceilings. Soft neutral hues blend with sheer fabrics, silvery accents, statement chandeliers, custom seating and natural light to add relaxed sophistication. Kitchen focal points include the custom stone breakfast table and bar with wood-carved details mirroring the family room’s entertainment center. The main areas invite comfort, with back-to-back sectionals and motorized, retractable pocket-sliding doors connecting the outdoor living areas. The peaceful master suite features a sitting area and bay window overlooking the outdoor living area. The bath offers a freestanding tub, dual vanities with hidden televisions and secluded “Zen garden ”shower area with custom pergola and native landscaping. The playroom is a kid-sized paradise, with an adorable structural façade, flower chandelier and Dutch door. Ms. Pac-Man and a Pop-A-Shot basketball game add fun to the home theatre. Outdoors, custom bench seating adds style to the resort-style pool’s center sunken fire pit. The project has also received one Grand Aurora and two Silver Aurora Awards from the Florida Home Builders Association, and three Sand Dollar Awards from the Collier Building Industry Association.

Knapp’s Pine Ridge Estates project blends beautiful ceilings, a neutral color palette, splashes of rich colors and deliberate design details to create a sleek and inviting estate, perfect for entertaining. The living area’s linear fireplace and wood detailing directs the eyes towards a beautiful vaulted ceiling with stained dark wood beams. In the kitchen, glass cabinets artfully rest above the main, neutral cabinetry, adding interest and color, while left of the island, the contrasting grey finish of the bar lends another layer of interest. The dining room is completed with a walk-in glass wine feature, adding dimension, sophistication and harmony to the indoor entertainment space. Throughout the home, detailed crown molding, wood coffered and tray ceilings and decorative features create a beautiful canvas. The carefully thought out textures and patterns across textiles, decor and tile work give each room the perfect amount of depth and warmth, creating unique spaces with a cohesive feel. The master suite is elegant and understated, but makes a wow impact. The natural base and bold splash of yellow create a rich impact in the bathroom. In the outdoor living space, enticing seating areas feature coastal inspired textiles and statement finishes on the outdoor kitchen and fireplace. The project also received one Silver Aurora Award from the Florida Home Builders Association.

In Seaglass at Bonita Bay, Collins and Dolan applied the “two are better than one” concept to a project consisting of two separate units combined into one. The challenge was to create a natural flow with one central area for family gatherings, games and entertainment, as well as a multipurpose living space. The designer divided the room with vast Gulf views by function and décor, achieving the clients’ goals while maintaining a connected aesthetic. The entertainment area offers a pool table and bistro table, juxtaposed with an intimate seating nook. In between, an oversized ottoman unites the spaces and provides additional seating. Woven together by light neutral backgrounds, pops of blues, mocha-toned floors, textures and panoramic views, custom ceiling details and lighting integrate the areas. A large structural column in the center of the room posed another challenge. To add elegance without distracting from the views, the column was clad in paneled, bronze-toned mirror, causing it to disappear as surrounding elements are reflected. To make both units’ long corridors feel natural and inviting, interesting vignette settings with sculptural furniture and artwork are strategically placed, breaking up the lengthy spans to add interest and warmth.

Collins DuPont Design Group has completed new construction residential interior design projects for custom homebuilders, developers and private clients in some of Southwest Florida’s most established communities, including Mediterra, Bonita Bay, Grey Oaks, Pine Ridge Estates, Talis Park, and Port Royal.
