In January, Collins DuPont Design Group lost a family member, a friend and a long-time employee, Andi Blankenship, to cancer. While we are mourning the loss of our beloved, this month we choose to celebrate the life she led and the love she gave, which are enough to last a lifetime.
Losing Andi was hard on everyone who knew her. Being around her in the office was like being wrapped in a warm blanket. She was genuinely happy, always smiling and her good, positive energy was uplifting. Her team and co-workers admired her patience in this fast-paced business that changes day to day. Andi spent 30 years in the furniture and interior design industry, eight of them here with us. She was unflappable, resolute and at peace always, even when facing the circumstance that threatened to shake her faith and steal her joy.
She lived her life in service to others, giving tirelessly of herself through her church, faith and good works. Her mission field was as far as her heart could reach, and that was pretty far! From her Sunday School classes to feeding the homeless in the park, Andi never failed to set an example for us all. She was incredibly talented, creative and skilled in crafts like sewing, quilting, jewelry-making and truly anything she put her mind and heart to.
It’s difficult to sum up the impact Andi had on our lives in only a few short paragraphs. She touched us all in such a lovely, gentle and kind way. Her beautiful soul and gracious heart will always be remembered. We invite you to read her obituary at the link below and enjoy some of our fondest memories through photos. We love you, Andi. Thank you for shining your spirit on us.
